HUGE news for cheerleading teams across Europe! Varsity has officially announced The European Summit Championship, a new end-of-season competition that promises to be a prime event for athletes across the continent.
The first-ever event is set to take place on June 27-28, 2026, at the Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Centre in Portugal.
According to Varsity’s official announcement:
“A Premier End-of-Season championship, specifically celebrating the accomplishments of cheer and dance European athletes in Lisbon, Portugal. You can expect the same great Summit event experience you have come to know and love with a specific focus on bringing high-caliber competition to the international stage. Additional information about pricing, bid qualification and more will be coming soon.”
What to Expect
This first-of-its-kind event is designed specifically for European teams and will offer high-level competition across eligible divisions (see below).
Further details about pricing, bid qualifications, and more, will be revealed in time. Until then, athletes and teams can look forward to the opportunity to compete against the best teams on the continent.

Below are a few points from the official information guide, which you can find here. First of all: teams will be able to compete at both The Summit (Orlando) and the European Summit!
Team Eligibility
- Teams must be in “good standing with the IASF & Varsity Spirit”.
- Eligible teams include those that compete and receive a bid from an approved bid-qualifying event.
- At qualifying events, a team must have at least 16 athletes to be considered for bids.
Competition Rounds
- ALL teams will compete twice over two days:
- Day 1: Preliminary scores determine the performance order for Day 2.
- Day 2: Final Performances.
- Ties will not be broken.
Scoring
- Teams must follow IASF legality rules.
- Divisions will be scored using the United Scoring System’s International rubrics.
- Results will combine Round 1 (Saturday) and Round 2 (Sunday) scores:
- The higher score (daily) will account for 75% of the final result.
- The lower score will account for 25%.
